On Saturday morning, a multitude of west-side schools voyaged to Kamehameha Schools Hawai‘i to compete in the weekly BIIF boys and girls cross country’s 5k race, with Kealakehe, Hawaii Prep, Konawaena and Makua Lani competing. On the girls’ side, the top three finishers came from the west side of the island — including Elisa Childers (22:39.84) from Kealakehe placing first and Bella Dadzie (23:17.28) and Wynter Radey-Morgan (23:17.39) from HPA earning second and third, respectively. Ka Makani won the girls race collectively with 32 points. Konawaena’s Isaac Keanaaina was the top west-side finisher in the boys race, placing fourth overall in 19:16.55. HPA boys was once again the top west-side school finisher, finishing third overall with a team score of 94.
